My wonderfully talented friend, Darwin, has been featured in the news for his artwork in relation to the new Doctor Who actor, Matt Smith. He's brilliant and incredibly talented and it would be very cool if all of you went to the site and gave his story a good rating!

Ashford cartoonist draws Eleventh Doctor Who Matt Smith

I know many of you there already but I wanted to see who else is on Facebook so I can add your silly asses.
Ok, made reservations just in case. It's under Paul's name.

See previous post for details.
We're going to be getting together at Wrangler's in Bartlett around 7pm. Karaoke is supposed to start at 7pm, so if anyone wants to be there earlier let me know. I was hoping to do it Saturday but it isn't karaoke that night. It's a family joint and the DJ is very customer oriented. The food is reasonable, lots of appetizers, and priced decent.

Another round is here!
VOTE FOR albee!
once again I had something to talk about and have forgotten.

I think it was something about the thunderstorms we're having today. I fucking LOVE them. I'm always so sad when they happen and I'm stuck inside at work. When I'm at home, I can go out and look out the windows whenever I want... it's beautiful.

LJ Idol

I think you should all go and give albee a vote! For anyone not aware of who he is, he's the lead crooner in my boy's band :)

I do believe their CD is still on pre-order for $4, go buy it if you haven't already!

Red Hots. I love them.
It's been a busy weekend. There's been karaoke, movies, dinners out, gardening and laundry.
It's been a lazy one too. I slept til 6:30pm yesterday. I did wake up much earlier than that but only managed to stay awake for about an hour. Long enough to use the bathroom and play FFTactics on the DS.
I opted to stay home this afternoon so I could do laundry. Paul's taken the girls out to see X-Men 3 at the cheap seats theater.
We're almost done with Deep Space Nine. :(
We look forward to WebJunk.

oh my goodness! I'm so happy. Everything above was typed up a few days ago and I had to log off. I left the page open but never got a chance to update. I'm pleased to see it was auto-saved to draft. Not that it's a life altering or inspiring post, but now I don't have to whine about how it was lost.

alliiya called the other day but I wasn't able to answer. I'm fairly lame about using phones so I haven't been up to calling back. If it was something urgent, I figured a message would have been left.

I thought I left my Black Raspberry Vanilla Body Cream at work and someone stole it. I've now noticed it's slightly hidden behind other stuff nearby here at home. I am VERY happy about that. I've become addicted to Bath & Body Works. Their Cherry Blossom shampoo/conditioner for color treated/damaged hair is amazing for my hair. I need a trim severely but given the state it was in, that stuff has made it so much smoother. We got it for sunny13 (who's going to be 18 very soon, no longer 13) but I've opted to share it with her ;)

I'm jonesing bad for that inheritance. I keep dreaming about a new place to live, a new car, a new phone device, a new computer.... DS's for all the wee monsters ethangrim and I have birthed out... well, had part in producing since he can't birth them out, a new orthopedic something mattress........ man. The car and place to live won't be brand spanking new but new to us.

ethangrim will have a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, on the 18th. So far the plan is to hit Snakes On A Plane since it opens that night and then probably some karaoke at Jordan's in Bartlett. It's all ages and they rotate fairly evenly with singers. So...................

Friday August 18th, Birthday festivities out and about. Any suggestions and ideas for things to do are welcome. Just leave a comment if you're interested in hanging out. It won't be anything monstrously huge, at least it's not planned that way, but if a million people want to hang out, we won't say no :) If there's enough people I'd be more inclined to make more concrete and extensive plans. Just let me know if you're up for joining us.

Alright, gotta share the phone line. I hope you're all happy and well and comment just for the fuck of it if you want. I'd love to hear from you all!

Lately I've been reminded of people I know and haven't talked to or seen in a long time. It's random little things that remind me of that person. Sometimes it's something you wouldn't even have realized until it happens.

I was curious. What sorts of things remind you of me? I know what I would THINK others might think, good or bad or absolutely strange. If there isn't something, don't make it up. Or if you do at least admit to it. ;)
hi :)
i like chocolate.
and i miss LJ.
I was curious if anyone would be interested in buying my Gameboy SP.
It's silver with a nifty inner and outer colorful skin from DecalGirl called Static Discharge.
It's not quite a year and a half old.
There's some scuffing but it runs great and the screen is great.
I'd be willing to include a couple games if someone were interested in buying it.
If anyone is interested, leave a comment and I'll get together some specs and post more details this weekend.
The reason I'm selling it? We have 4 between us all now so it tends to not get used... and the extra cash would be nice.
i knew i had the man i was meant to be with.
tonight i found the proof hidden under my pillow!
THE Suburbia. Not that remake shite!
I still regret not getting that soundtrack on LP again just for a backup copy.
I can't explain how close to the heart this is for me.
yeah yeah yeah it's on dvd.... i know i should stick to hardcore BETA!
I really want this.
Someone buy me THIS!!!!
Shipping is only $2.95.

That stupid show 'Reba' is on. I wish we had 'Tremors' on dvd.

Ideas for sightseeing

Ok I'm trying to figure out things to do that aren't going to drain my resources, or if they do cost something, they're fairly unique things to do and will interest sunny13 (who's now 17).

Some ideas if I can make the trip down there would be Four Corners, Cave of the Winds, Pike's Peak....

Peak to Peak highway is closed during winter right?

What can you guys suggest on things to visit or see?

Nice Palm..... Nice Palm.....

This is just wrong. So many things about this make me laugh and wonder who let this one through. You can't tell me there wasn't SOMEone who knew how people would see this.

Does anyone have Gold Membership on Classmates.com that they don't use anymore? As in, do you have an account to share for the sake of viewing emails and photos? I've started seeing some names crop up that I haven't seen in years and I'm getting extra curious. If nothing else, I'll do the shortest membership time and check it out.

The White Stripes

I've resisted.
I don't think I can anymore.
Jack is creepy.
Meg is fascinating.

"get up here you dizzy dames!" This man kicks much ass.

I'm still recovering.
Wednesday was amazingly fun and not surpringly exhausting!
His Q&A at the screening was a lot of fun and Rachelle asked him one of the best questions. I whispered for her to ask him when Jack Of All Trades would be out on dvd (since I'm too shy to ask myself) and when she did it the audience applauded to encourage Bruce. Rachelle was glowing and giddy from it. She had a really good time and got more and more into it as the day went on. I think she was reluctant to go with me at first, not really understanding what the day's events were really about. I'm glad she had a memorable time.

now if i could only remember to reset the timestamp/banner!

We just got back from sitting in on the interview with Bruce Campbell at the Memphis Central Library :) !! He's doing a book tour for his latest novel, Make Love* *the bruce campbell way. He's the coolest person to listen to. He knows his shit and isn't afraid to express his thoughts about something. He doesn't beat around the bush. And he doesn't sugarcoat responses to please the audience. Some guy asked a lame question, "Do you think you'll ever write a book about making B-movies and the processes that are involved behind the scenes?" BC is all, "uh yeah, If Chins Could Kill was all about that." You could tell by his tone that he knew the guy was trying too hard to sound like he was all "in the know" and had probably never read his books. Or if he had, he paid no attention to them. He didn't care if the guy liked his answer or not, he was honest and to the point. It was rather funny to go outside and overhear this same guy trying to justify his question to his friends after looking stupid. Regardless, it was a really cool experience and there were only 15 or so people in the studio watching. Very low-key. I only wish he'd felt up to hanging out afterwards for small talk.

From 5-8pm tonight is his book signing at Davis Kidd and then at 9:30pm is the screening of his movie, Man With The Screaming Brain at Paradiso. It'll be out on dvd around October 4th but will be released officially on the Sci-Fi channel sometime around September 25th. He's acting in it is and writer, director and producer as well.

"Man with the Screaming Brain is a story of greed, betrayal and revenge in the former Eastern European block. William Cole, wealthy industrialist, goes looking for a tax shelter in the wrong part of the world and winds up the guinea pig for a mad scientist, having his brain merged with that of Yegor, a former KGD operative. The two couldn't be more different, but they share one thing - both were killed by the same woman. William and Yegor form an unlikely partnership to track down their common nemesis. If I were pitching it in Hollywood, I'd say it's The Out-of-Towners with a brain transplant." -BC

So I took the day off for all this fun :) We came home to cool off and relax for a couple hours. Paul had to work and wanted to save his vacation time so he opted not to go this morning. If he gets off early he'll get to the bookstore before signings are over, if not though we'll head for the screening after I pick him up.

Bruce Campbell is awesome! :)

thanks to insomnia for the heads up!

I need help.
I'm trying to locate an old Pirahna Press graphic novel. I believe it was called The Hiding Place but I really can't remember. It was about an unhappy boy who was taken to a secret place on the back of a dragon. There were all kinds of creatures there. If anyone remembers this, let me know. I want to find it again.
